When Details Make All the Difference: Firefighters from Germany and Singapore Visit MALINA Safety

Firefighters and emergency response specialists from Germany and Singapore arrived in Jablonec nad Nisou. Not for a formal visit, but to get hands-on experience with the technologies they must rely on in situations where there is no room for error.

The program quickly moved from an introductory presentation to a substantive discussion. Instead of general presentations, specific questions arose—what the equipment can withstand during a long operation, how it performs under demanding conditions, and where its limits lie. The discussion naturally drew on real-world field experience shared by all participants, even though each came from a different background.

A large part of the day was devoted to the manufacturing process itself. Guests toured the production of CleanAIR respiratory systems in Jablonec nad Nisou and subsequently the filter production facility in Železný Brod. It is precisely here that the crucial role of details becomes apparent—from material selection and design to quality control. These are aspects that aren’t visible at first glance but, in practice, determine reliability and safety.

“We were able to bring top professionals from Germany and Singapore to Jablonec and openly share experiences with them. This is crucial for us: not only for further development, but also for strengthening our position as a Czech company in the global market,” says Jiří Jankele, CTO of MALINA Safety.

The practical aspect was key. Participants did not associate individual components of the technology with theory, but rather with specific situations they had experienced firsthand operations in contaminated environments, extended deployments, or working under pressure. Thanks to this, the visit became more of an exchange of experiences than a traditional presentation.

The group brought together representatives from the German units LK FW Lüneburg and BuPoAk Lübeck, along with Singapore’s COSEM. Although they work under different conditions, they quickly found common ground. They agreed that the reliability of equipment and ease of use play a crucial role during operations.

“I greatly appreciate your hospitality, professionalism, and willingness to share your experiences. It was a valuable opportunity for us to take the next step forward,” said Khairul Anwar, Director of Emergency Response at COSEM Singapore, summarizing the visit.

For two days, Jablonec nad Nisou and Železný Brod became not only production sites but also venues for sharing experiences, approaches, and insights.
